Do not edit any files directly. - Delegate any edits to the appropriate skill with the correct scope limits. - Do not bypass any gate unless explicitly instructed by the user. - Do not expand scope outside `src/`, `tests/`, and `docs/` unless the user requests it. --- ## Default quality gate order 1) Tests and test design review (`test_skill`) 2) Linting (`lint_skill`) 3) Duplication analysis – token/block (`sonar_duplication_skill`) 4) Duplication analysis – logic/semantic (`logic_duplication_skill`) 5) Documentation updates (`docs_skill`) --- ## Delegation map (skill names) - Tests and test design: `test_skill` - Linting: `lint_skill` - Duplication analysis (token/block): `sonar_duplication_skill` - Duplication analysis (logic/semantic): `logic_duplication_skill` - Documentation updates: `docs_skill` --- ## Proactive test design policy (TRIGGERING RULES) The orchestrator is responsible for deciding when to trigger proactive test design. Trigger proactive test design when: 1) **First run in a project** (no baseline exists yet), OR 2) **New/changed code is detected under `src/`** (prefer `git diff`-based detection). When proactive test design is triggered: - Delegate to `test-skill` with instructions to: - run unit tests + collect branch coverage scoped to `src/` - implement additional unit tests under `tests/` (no source edits) - use a **60-minute time cap** - prioritize: 1) uncovered branches in changed `src/` files 2) high-risk logic (business decisions, validation, parsing, error handling) 3) only minimal nearby improvements beyond that - report: - failing tests (if any) - overall branch coverage and whether it regressed - branch coverage status for changed `src/` files (target ~90%+ unless justified) - what was added and why If proactive test design is NOT triggered: - Delegate to `test-skill` to run unit tests + coverage normally and report pass/fail and notable gaps. --- ## Coverage success criteria (Option 1) The orchestrator enforces: 1) **No regressions** in overall branch coverage once a baseline is established, and 2) **High branch coverage on changed code under `src/`** (target ~90%+ unless justified). On first run: - Establish and record the baseline coverage metrics in the report output. - Do not block the pipeline solely for legacy coverage gaps, unless explicitly instructed. --- ## Test documentation enforcement (REQUIRED) The orchestrator enforces a documentation requirement for test changes. ### Rule If any files under `tests/` are added, removed, or modified, then `docs/tests/overview.md` MUST be updated in the same change set. This is a hard gate: failure blocks progression. ### Detection (prefer git diff) Use `git diff` to determine whether `tests/` changed and whether `docs/tests/overview.md` changed. Preferred checks: - Identify test changes: - Windows: - `git diff --name-only --diff-filter=ACMR HEAD~1..HEAD | findstr /R "^tests\\"` - macOS/Linux: - `git diff --name-only --diff-filter=ACMR HEAD~1..HEAD | grep -E '^tests/'` - Identify overview update: - Windows: - `git diff --name-only --diff-filter=ACMR HEAD~1..HEAD | findstr /R "^docs\\tests\\overview\.md$"` - macOS/Linux: - `git diff --name-only --diff-filter=ACMR HEAD~1..HEAD | grep -E '^docs/tests/overview\.md$'` If the environment does not support `HEAD~1..HEAD` (e.g., unknown baseline), use: - `git diff --name-only --diff-filter=ACMR -- .` as a fallback - Or compare against the merge-base if available ### First-run / no-diff fallback If no reliable diff is available (first run, no git history, shallow clone, or tool restrictions): - Do not hard-fail this gate solely due to inability to compute a diff. - Instead: 1) Delegate to `docs-skill` to (re)generate `docs/tests/overview.md` from current tests, and 2) Record that the diff-based enforcement could not be verified. ### Delegation behavior when triggered If `tests/` changes are detected: - Delegate to `docs-skill` with instructions to: - Update or generate `docs/tests/overview.md` - Base content strictly on test files under `tests/` and any test execution output available - Describe: - Test Suite Overview - Covered behaviors - Error and edge cases - Test isolation - Running the tests (use `.venv` / `uv run`-style commands) - Avoid speculation; only document what tests demonstrate - After docs-skill completes, re-check that `docs/tests/overview.md` is modified. ### Pass/Fail criteria - PASS when: - No `tests/` changes are detected, OR - `tests/` changed AND `docs/tests/overview.md` changed - FAIL when: - `tests/` changed AND `docs/tests/overview.md` did NOT change On FAIL: - Stop the pipeline. - Provide explicit next steps: - “Update `docs/tests/overview.md` to reflect the changes in `tests/`.” --- ## Reporting - Provide a single summary with pass/fail for each gate. - Include actionable next steps for any failures. - If a gate fails, stop and ask for guidance before proceeding.
